Acura TLX Blind Spot Information System 2020 Manual

The Blind Spot Information System is activated automatically when you start the vehicle. To ensure it is functioning, check that the system indicator light is on, located on the dashboard.
If the BSI warning light is on, it indicates that the system has detected a vehicle in your blind spot. The light will turn off once the vehicle is no longer in the blind spot area.
The sensitivity of the BSI system is fixed and cannot be adjusted. It is calibrated to provide optimal detection of vehicles in your blind spot.
Inconsistent detection can be due to dirt or obstructions on the sensors located on the rear bumper. Ensure the sensors are clean and free from any obstructions.
To disable the BSI system, use the vehicle settings menu accessed through the infotainment system. Navigate to the driver assist settings and toggle off the BSI feature.
Regularly clean the rear bumper area where the sensors are located to ensure proper functionality. Have the system checked during routine vehicle maintenance.
The BSI system is designed to work in various weather conditions, but severe weather such as heavy rain or snow may temporarily affect its performance.
If the BSI system is not functioning, check the vehicle settings to ensure it is enabled. If it is enabled and still not working, consult a certified Acura technician for a diagnostic check.
The BSI system is optimized to detect most standard vehicles. However, it may have difficulty detecting smaller vehicles such as motorcycles or bicycles. Always check your mirrors and surroundings.
The BSI system primarily uses visual indicators in the side mirrors. Some models may have an optional audio alert feature which can be enabled through the vehicle settings.
