To activate Traffic Jam Assist, ensure the vehicle is in Drive and the Adaptive Cruise Control is turned on. Then, press the Traffic Jam Assist button on the steering wheel to enable the system.
Traffic Jam Assist requires clear lane markings, speeds below 45 mph, and Adaptive Cruise Control to be active. Ensure these conditions are met for optimal performance.
Traffic Jam Assist may not function properly in adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, fog, or snow, as these can obstruct the sensors and cameras.
Check if the system prerequisites are met: lane markings are visible, and the Adaptive Cruise Control is activated. If issues persist, consult your Acura dealer for a system diagnostic.
When Traffic Jam Assist is active, an indicator light on the instrument panel and a message on the display will confirm its status.
While Traffic Jam Assist enhances driving comfort in traffic, the driver should always remain alert and ready to take control of the vehicle at any time.
The sensitivity of Traffic Jam Assist is pre-set by Acura and is not user-adjustable. However, you can adjust the follow distance via the Adaptive Cruise Control settings.
Regularly clean the sensors and cameras located at the front and rear of the vehicle to ensure optimal functionality. Refer to the owner's manual for detailed cleaning instructions.
If a malfunction is detected, the system may not engage, and a warning message will appear on the display. Service the vehicle promptly to restore functionality.
Traffic Jam Assist can automatically apply the brakes if a sudden stop is detected. However, drivers should always be prepared to intervene if necessary.
