Ensure the key fob is inside the car. Press and hold the brake pedal, then press the engine start/stop button, located on the dashboard, to start the engine.
Check if the key fob battery is dead. Replace the battery if necessary. Ensure the brake pedal is fully depressed and the gear is in 'Park'. If the problem persists, consult an Acura dealer.
The push button start system is a standard feature and cannot be permanently disabled. However, you can prevent unauthorized starting by keeping the key fob away from the vehicle.
Regularly check and replace the key fob battery. Ensure the start button is clean and free of debris. Schedule regular check-ups at an Acura service center to ensure system integrity.
If the push button start is slow to respond or fails to start the vehicle, it may indicate a low key fob battery. A dashboard warning light may also illuminate.
Ensure the vehicle is in 'Park' and press the start/stop button again. If the problem continues, contact an Acura service center for assistance.
A slight delay is normal as the vehicle's systems initialize. However, prolonged delays may indicate a weak fob battery or other system issues.
Extreme temperatures can affect battery performance, potentially impacting the push button start. Keeping the vehicle and key fob in moderate conditions can mitigate this.
Remove the physical key by sliding the release button on the back of the fob. Use a small screwdriver to open the fob, then replace the battery with a new CR2032 battery. Reassemble the fob and reinsert the key.
Always lock the vehicle and keep the key fob secure. Consider installing additional security features like a steering wheel lock or a tracking system for added protection.
