Ensure the clock is receiving a signal from the atomic clock. Place it near a window for better reception. If the problem persists, reset the clock by removing the batteries and reinsert them after a few minutes.
To change the display format, press and hold the 'SET' button until the hour flashes. Continue pressing 'SET' until you reach the 12/24-hour format option, then use the 'UP' or 'DOWN' button to toggle between formats.
Check if the backlight is turned on by pressing the 'LIGHT' button. If the button does not activate the light, replace the batteries as low power can affect the backlight functionality.
