The recommended break-in procedure involves operating the motorcycle at varying speeds while avoiding high RPMs for the first 5-10 hours. Gradually increase the speed and load on the engine to ensure proper seating of the components.
It is recommended to change the oil every 10 hours of riding or as specified in the owner's manual, whichever comes first. Frequent oil changes help maintain engine performance and longevity.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 91 (R+M)/2. Avoid using fuels with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent potential engine damage.
To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on a stand, loosen the axle nut, and adjust the chain adjusters equally on both sides until the chain has 30-40mm of slack. Tighten the axle nut securely after adjustment.
Check the fuel level, ensure the kill switch is in the run position, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and verify that the carburetor is clean. If issues persist, consult a professional technician.
Adjust the suspension settings based on your weight and riding style. Fine-tuning the compression and rebound settings can help improve performance. For advanced adjustments, consider consulting with a suspension specialist.
After each race, clean the air filter, check and tighten all bolts, inspect the chain and sprockets, and check the tire pressure. Perform a visual inspection for any signs of wear or damage.
To store the bike for the off-season, clean it thoroughly, drain the fuel, disconnect the battery, and apply a light coat of oil to unpainted metal parts. Store it in a dry, covered area to protect it from the elements.
Signs of a worn-out clutch include slipping during acceleration, difficulty engaging gears, and a spongy clutch lever feel. If these symptoms occur, inspect and replace clutch components as needed.
To bleed the brakes, attach a clear tube to the brake caliper bleeder valve, pump the brake lever until firm, open the bleeder valve to release air, and close it. Repeat until all air bubbles are expelled, ensuring the brake fluid reservoir is filled.
