Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 91. It's important to avoid using ethanol-based fuels to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every ride in dusty conditions. In less demanding environments, replace or clean it every 5-10 hours of riding.
For optimal performance, maintain a tire pressure of 12-15 psi in the front and 10-12 psi in the rear, adjusting based on terrain and rider preference.
Check the spark plug for fouling, ensure the fuel valve is on, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If these are fine, inspect the fuel line for blockages or leaks.
Regular maintenance includes checking and adjusting chain tension, lubricating bearings, inspecting brake pads, and changing transmission oil every 10 hours of operation.
To adjust the suspension, start with the rebound and compression settings on both the front forks and rear shock. Refer to the manual for baseline settings, and adjust according to riding style and terrain.
The correct spark plug gap for the Yamaha YZ250K2 is 0.7-0.8 mm. Ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped for optimal ignition performance.
To bleed the brakes, start by removing the brake fluid reservoir cap, attach a clear tube to the bleeder valve, and pump the brake lever several times. Open the valve to release air and old fluid. Repeat until no air bubbles are visible.
Stop the bike immediately to allow the engine to cool. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not clogged with debris. Inspect for any coolant leaks and ensure the radiator cap is in good condition.
Clean the bike thoroughly, drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, lubricate all moving parts, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the bike to protect it from dust and moisture.
