It is recommended to change the oil every 10 hours of riding or after every race. Regular oil changes ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
The YZ250FX is designed to run on 91 octane unleaded fuel. Using the correct fuel type helps maintain engine performance and efficiency.
To adjust the suspension, start by setting the sag according to your weight. Use the adjusters on the forks and shock to fine-tune compression and rebound based on your riding style and terrain. Consult the owner’s manual for specific settings.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tire is 15 psi and for the rear tire is 15 psi. Adjust pressure based on terrain and riding conditions.
Check the battery charge, ensure the fuel valve is open, and the engine stop switch is in the run position. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly gapped.
After riding in muddy conditions, clean the bike thoroughly, inspect and lubricate the chain, check the air filter, and ensure all moving parts are free of debris.
To adjust the clutch, locate the clutch cable adjuster at the lever. Turn the adjuster to achieve the desired free play, typically 10-15mm at the lever end. Ensure smooth operation without slipping.
If the engine overheats, stop the bike and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level, inspect the radiator for obstructions, and ensure the cooling system is functioning properly.
Remove the air filter, clean it with a suitable cleaner, and allow it to dry. Apply an air filter oil evenly before reinstalling. Regular maintenance prevents engine damage from dirt and debris.
For winter storage, clean the bike thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and keep it charged, and store the bike in a dry place. Cover to protect from dust and moisture.
