The recommended engine oil for the Yamaha YXZ10YEXH and YXZ10YESH 2017 is Yamalube 10W-40 Performance All Purpose or an equivalent oil with a 10W-40 viscosity rating.
It is recommended to change the oil every 1,600 km (1,000 miles) or every 6 months, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
For optimal performance, maintain the front tires at 12 psi and rear tires at 15 psi. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold.
First, check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure the battery is fully charged. If the issue persists, inspect the starter motor and ignition switch for any faults.
To adjust the clutch, locate the clutch cable adjuster near the clutch lever. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster to achieve the desired free play, typically about 10-15 mm. Tighten the locknut after adjusting.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it using compressed air or wash it with mild soapy water. Allow it to dry completely before reinstallation. Replace if damaged.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors specifically formulated for aluminum engines, mixed with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio.
Check the coolant level and inspect for leaks. Ensure the radiator fans are operational. Clean any debris from the radiator fins and verify that the thermostat is functioning correctly.
Regular maintenance checks include inspecting fluid levels (oil, coolant, brakes), checking tire pressure, examining brake pads and lines, and ensuring all bolts and nuts are properly tightened.
Use a fuel system cleaner designed for high-performance engines. Add it to the fuel tank and run the engine to allow the cleaner to circulate through the system. This helps remove deposits and improve performance.
