The recommended oil type for the Yamaha YFZ450R 2013 is SAE 10W-40, API service SE, SF, SG, or higher.
It is recommended to change the oil every 20 hours of use or every three months, whichever comes first.
The proper tire pressure is 4 psi for the front tires and 4.5 psi for the rear tires.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is on, inspect the spark plug, and verify that the engine stop switch is in the correct position.
The air filter should be cleaned every 20 hours of riding or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
Loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides, and then re-tighten the axle nut to secure the position.
The correct spark plug gap is 0.7 - 0.8 mm (0.028 - 0.031 inches).
Ensure the engine is cool, then check the coolant level in the radiator and reservoir tank, topping up with a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water if necessary.
Stop the vehicle immediately, allow the engine to cool, check for coolant leaks, and ensure the radiator is not clogged. Refill coolant if necessary.
Regular maintenance is key. Consider upgrading the exhaust system, using high-performance air filters, and ensuring proper tire pressure and alignment.
