The Yamaha YFM90RY Raptor 90 requires unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87.
It's recommended to change the oil after the first 20 hours of use, then every 6 months or 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure is 4.4 psi for both front and rear tires.
To adjust the chain tension, first loosen the axle nut, then turn the adjusting bolts equally on both sides until the chain slack is within 0.8-1.2 inches. Tighten the axle nut securely after adjustment.
The recommended spark plug for the Yamaha YFM90RY Raptor 90 is NGK DR8EA.
Check the battery condition and connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify the fuel level, and check the spark plug for fouling or wear.
After riding in muddy conditions, clean the ATV thoroughly, inspect and clean the air filter, check the brakes, lubricate moving parts, and inspect the chain for debris and proper tension.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat, open the airbox cover, take out the old filter, and insert a new, properly oiled filter. Ensure the airbox cover is sealed tightly when reassembling.
Yamaha recommends using a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors for aluminum engines.
Regular maintenance, such as timely oil changes, proper chain tension, and clean air filters, can improve performance. Consider upgrading the exhaust system or tuning the carburetor for enhanced performance.
