The recommended oil type for the Yamaha YFM7RB, YFM7RSEB Raptor 2012 is 10W-40, Yamalube 4-stroke or an equivalent oil that meets or exceeds the JASO MA standard.
It is recommended to change the oil every 20 hours of operation or every 6 months, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
To clean the air filter, remove it and wash it with a mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before re-oiling it with a foam filter oil. Reinstall the filter securely.
If you are experiencing starting issues, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the battery is fully charged. Inspect the spark plug for wear or foul and replace if necessary.
First, stop the vehicle and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. Inspect the cooling fan and thermostat for proper operation. Seek professional service if the problem persists.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the rear axle nut and adjust the chain adjusters equally on both sides until the chain has about 1.2 to 1.6 inches of slack at its midpoint. Tighten the axle nut securely after adjustment.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 5 psi and for the rear tires is 5 psi. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Regularly inspect the brake pads for wear and replace them if they are worn beyond the service limit. Check the brake fluid level and top it up if necessary, using DOT 4 brake fluid. Ensure all brake components are clean and properly adjusted.
If the battery is not charging, check the battery terminals for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Inspect the charging system fuse and replace if blown. Test the stator and regulator/rectifier for malfunction and replace if needed.
To store your ATV for the winter, clean it thoroughly and apply a protective wax. Drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure and cover the ATV to protect it from dust and moisture.
