For optimal performance, Yamaha recommends using Yamalube 10W-40 or a similar high-quality motor oil designed for ATV use.
It's advised to change the oil every 20 hours of operation or every 160 miles, whichever comes first, for regular maintenance.
To store your Kodiak 700, clean it thoroughly, change the oil, fill the fuel tank, and add a fuel stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the ATV to protect it from dust and moisture.
If the Kodiak 700 won't start, check the battery charge, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the fuel is fresh, and verify that the fuel line is not clogged.
The recommended tire pressure is 5 psi for the front tires and 5 psi for the rear tires. Always verify with the owner's manual for any specific conditions.
To adjust the suspension, locate the preload adjuster on the shocks and use a spanner wrench to adjust the tension to your preference. Softer settings will provide a smoother ride.
If the Kodiak 700 overheats, stop the engine immediately and let it cool. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is clean and unobstructed.
Regularly inspect brake pads for wear, check brake fluid levels, and ensure that the brake lines are not leaking. Adjust the brake lever free play as necessary.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure the ATV is properly maintained with regular oil changes, clean air filters, correctly inflated tires, and avoid aggressive driving.
Before each ride, check the oil level, inspect tires for damage and inflate as needed, verify that the brakes function properly, and ensure all lights and controls are operational.
