The recommended oil type is SAE 10W-40, API Service SJ or higher. The oil capacity is approximately 2.21 liters (2.34 US quarts) with oil filter replacement.
Routine maintenance should be performed as specified in the owner's manual, typically every 20 hours of operation or every 160 kilometers (100 miles), whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure is 4.0 psi (28 kPa) for the front tires and 4.0 psi (28 kPa) for the rear tires.
To clean the air filter, remove it from the air box, wash it with a mild detergent and warm water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely. Lightly oil the filter before reinstalling.
If your Raptor won't start, check the battery charge, ensure the fuel valve is on, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and confirm the engine stop switch is in the "run" position.
To adjust the suspension, use the rebound and compression adjusters on the front and rear shocks. Consult the owner's manual for specific settings based on your riding style and terrain.
Overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a clogged radiator, or a malfunctioning thermostat. Check coolant levels, clean the radiator, and inspect the thermostat for proper operation.
To replace the spark plug, remove the seat and fuel tank, disconnect the spark plug cap, use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug, and install a new one. Ensure it is properly gapped and torqued.
For the first 10 hours or 160 kilometers (100 miles), avoid full-throttle operation and vary engine speed. Gradually increase RPM and load after this period.
To check chain tension, measure the slack midway between the sprockets. Adjust tension by loosening the axle nut and turning the chain adjusters until the slack is within specification. Tighten the axle nut securely.
