For the Yamaha YFM700R Raptor 700R 2014, it is recommended to use SAE 10W-40 or 20W-50 Yamalube 4-stroke oil or equivalent high-quality motor oil that meets the API service classification of SG or higher.
The oil should be changed every 20 hours of operation or every 160 miles, whichever comes first, and more frequently if the ATV is used in severe conditions.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 4.2 psi (29 kPa) and for the rear tires is 4.2 psi (29 kPa). It's important to check the tire pressure regularly for optimal performance and safety.
If your Yamaha Raptor 700R is having starting issues, check the battery connection and charge, ensure the fuel valve is open, inspect the starter switch and relay, and verify that the spark plug is clean and properly gapped.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes: checking the air filter every 20 hours, changing the oil every 20 hours, inspecting the spark plug every 40 hours, and checking the valve clearance every 160 hours. Regular checks on brakes, tires, and cables are also advised.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain adjuster bolts to achieve 1.2–1.6 inches (30–40 mm) of slack, and then retighten the axle nut. Ensure the chain tension is even on both sides.
If your Yamaha Raptor 700R overheats, stop the engine immediately and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and refill if necessary. Inspect the radiator for blockages and ensure the cooling fan is operational.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat and the air filter housing cover. Take out the old air filter and replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before replacing the cover and seat.
A rattling noise in your Yamaha Raptor 700R could be due to loose bolts, a worn-out chain, or exhaust issues. Check all bolts and nuts for tightness, inspect the chain for wear, and ensure the exhaust system is secure.
If the brakes feel spongy, check the brake fluid level and top it off if necessary. Bleed the brake system to remove any air bubbles. Inspect the brake pads for wear and replace them if needed.
