To perform an oil change, first warm up the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off. Place an oil pan beneath the engine and remove the drain bolt to drain the old oil. Replace the drain bolt and remove the old oil filter, replacing it with a new one. Finally, refill with the recommended oil type and check for leaks.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based antifreeze coolant mixed with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio. This will help prevent corrosion and ensure optimal cooling performance.
Check the battery charge and connections first. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or wear, and clean or replace it if necessary. If the ATV still won't start, check the ignition system and fuel delivery components.
The recommended tire pressure for the Grizzly 660 is typically 5 psi for the front tires and 5 psi for the rear tires. Always consult the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the air/fuel mixture screw and idle speed screw. Adjust the air/fuel mixture screw for a smooth idle and optimal performance. Then adjust the idle speed screw to set the engine idle to the specified RPM.
Perform regular maintenance including oil changes every 6 months or 600 miles, checking and replacing the air filter as needed, inspecting brake pads and adjusting them, and checking all fluid levels regularly. Follow the detailed maintenance schedule in the owner's manual.
To replace the drive belt, remove the belt cover by unscrewing the bolts. Slide the belt off the pulleys and replace it with a new one, ensuring it's seated correctly on both pulleys. Reattach the belt cover securely.
Common causes of overheating include a low coolant level, a clogged radiator, a faulty thermostat, or a malfunctioning water pump. Regularly check and maintain the cooling system to prevent overheating.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry. Apply air filter oil before reinstalling. For paper filters, replace if dirty.
Use a multimeter to test the battery voltage. A fully charged battery should read around 12.6 volts or higher. If the voltage is low, try charging the battery. If it fails to hold a charge, consider replacing it.
