To break in the engine, start by riding at varying speeds without full throttle for the first 10 hours. Avoid prolonged idling and change the oil after the initial 20 hours of operation to remove any metal particles from the break-in process.
Yamaha recommends using Yamalube 4 10W-40 or an equivalent high-quality 4-stroke engine oil for the Grizzly 350. Ensure the oil meets the API service classification of SJ or higher.
The oil should be changed every 6 months or every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes are crucial for maintaining engine performance and longevity.
The recommended tire pressure is 4.0 psi for the front tires and 4.0 psi for the rear tires. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold for the most accurate reading.
If the ATV won't start, check the battery connections for tightness and corrosion, ensure the fuel is fresh, and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. If issues persist, consult a professional technician.
Stop the vehicle immediately and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and inspect the radiator for obstructions. Ensure the cooling fan operates correctly. If overheating continues, seek professional service.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Aim for an idle speed of around 1400 to 1600 RPM.
Conduct regular maintenance checks every 20 hours or monthly, including oil changes, brake inspections, and air filter cleaning. A comprehensive service should be done every 100 hours or annually.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the foam element, and wash it with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before applying a thin layer of foam filter oil and reinstalling it.
Check the fuel system for blockages, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and ensure the carburetor is clean. Additionally, verify that the idle speed is set correctly. If the problem persists, consult a technician.
