The recommended engine oil for the Yamaha YFM350FXT Wolverine 2005 is SAE 10W-40, API service type SE, SF, SG, or higher.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned every 20 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Replace it as needed.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 4.4 psi (30 kPa) and for the rear tires is 3.6 psi (25 kPa).
If the Wolverine is having starting issues, check the battery connection, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and confirm that the kill switch is in the correct position.
After the initial 20-hour break-in period, change the engine oil, check and tighten all fasteners, inspect the air filter, and adjust the throttle and brakes as necessary.
To adjust the drive chain tension, loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides, and ensure there is about 1.2–1.6 inches of slack in the chain. Tighten the rear axle nut securely after adjustment.
If the Wolverine overheats, stop the engine immediately, let it cool down, check the coolant level, and inspect the radiator for blockages or damage. Ensure the fan is operating correctly.
For long-term storage, clean the ATV thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery, elevate the vehicle to prevent tire deformation, and cover it to protect from dust and moisture.
To improve fuel efficiency, keep the tires properly inflated, maintain a steady throttle, reduce excess weight on the ATV, and ensure the air filter and spark plug are in good condition.
To check the brake fluid level, position the vehicle on a level surface, locate the brake fluid reservoir, and ensure the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks on the reservoir. Use only DOT 4 brake fluid.
