For the Yamaha XVS95CTG, it is recommended to use Yamalube 10W-40 or any high-quality 10W-40 motor oil that meets or exceeds the JASO MA standard.
The air filter should be inspected every 4,000 miles and replaced every 16,000 miles, or more frequently if you ride in dusty conditions.
First, check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. If the battery is charged and connections are good, inspect the starter motor and ignition switch for faults.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 40 psi for the rear tire, but always refer to the owner's manual for confirmation.
Regularly inspect the drive belt for signs of wear or damage every 4,000 miles. Clean it with a mild soap solution and water, and replace it if any cracks or fraying are present.
If the motorcycle overheats, stop immediately in a safe location, turn off the engine, and let it cool down. Check coolant levels and ensure the radiator is not blocked. If the problem persists, consult a mechanic.
To adjust the clutch, locate the clutch cable adjuster near the lever. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster until you achieve the desired free play, typically between 10-15mm. Retighten the locknut after adjusting.
To winterize your bike, change the oil and filter, add fuel stabilizer to a full tank, disconnect the battery, clean and lubricate all moving parts, and cover the motorcycle to protect it from dust and moisture.
To replace the brake pads, remove the calipers from the brake discs, take out the old pads, compress the caliper pistons, insert new pads, and reattach the calipers. Ensure the brake fluid is at the correct level after replacement.
Regularly inspect fuel lines for cracks or leaks, clean the fuel tank and fuel filter every 12,000 miles, and use a fuel injector cleaner every few thousand miles to prevent deposits.
