To perform an oil change, warm up the engine, place the bike on a stand, remove the oil drain plug, and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter, reinstall the drain plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity as specified in the owner's manual.
Check the battery connections, ensure the bike is in neutral, and verify that the kill switch is in the 'run' position. If the issue persists, examine the spark plugs and fuel supply system for any faults.
Inspect the drive belt regularly for wear and tension. Adjust the belt tension according to the specifications in the service manual. Replace it if any cracks or significant wear are noticed.
The recommended tire pressure can be found in the owner's manual. Generally, it is 36 psi for the front tire and 41 psi for the rear tire, but always confirm with the manual specific to your model.
Check the bulb first and replace it if necessary. Inspect the fuse box for any blown fuses and replace them. Examine the wiring for any loose connections or damage.
Regularly check the brake pads for wear and replace them if necessary. Inspect the brake fluid level and top it up with the recommended type if it's low. Check the brake lines for any signs of wear or leaks.
Locate the clutch cable adjuster and turn it to achieve the proper free play, which is generally around 10-15 mm at the lever. Ensure the clutch engages smoothly and doesn't slip.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based antifreeze with corrosion inhibitors specifically designed for aluminum engines. Mix with distilled water at a ratio specified in the owner's manual.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, and disconnect the battery. Store it in a dry place, cover it, and keep the tires off the ground to prevent flat spots.
Check the tire pressure and tread depth, inspect the brakes, test the lights and signals, ensure the horn is functioning, and verify that the fluid levels are adequate.
