Yamaha XV19CSY C, XV19CY C Star 2009 Owner's Manual

To change the oil, warm up the engine, place the bike on a level surface, remove the oil filler cap, drain the oil by removing the drain plug, replace the oil filter, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 41 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Check the battery charge and connections, inspect the fuses, ensure the side stand is up and the clutch is engaged, and examine the starter relay and ignition switch for faults.
Inspect the drive belt for wear and tension regularly. Replace it if there are signs of damage or if it has stretched beyond the specification. Adjust the tension as per the service manual guidelines.
The air filter should be inspected every 4,000 miles and replaced if necessary. Under dusty or extreme conditions, consider inspecting more frequently.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze coolant that is specifically designed for aluminum engines. Mix it with distilled water in a 50/50 ratio unless otherwise specified.
To adjust the clutch, locate the clutch cable adjuster near the clutch lever, loosen the locknut, adjust the cable tension to allow 10-15mm of free play at the lever, and tighten the locknut securely.
The correct spark plug gap is 0.8-0.9 mm (0.031-0.035 inches). Use a feeler gauge to measure and adjust the gap if necessary.
Maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular engine tune-ups, use the recommended grade of fuel, avoid excessive idling, and ride at a steady speed to improve fuel efficiency.
If the engine overheats, stop riding immediately, allow the engine to cool, and check the coolant level. Inspect for leaks, ensure the radiator is clear of debris, and consult a mechanic if the issue persists.
