To change the oil, warm up the engine for a few minutes, then turn it off and place the bike on a level surface. Remove the oil fill cap and drain bolt to let the old oil drain completely. Replace the drain bolt and add new oil through the fill hole, checking the level with the dipstick.
Use Yamalube 10W-40 or any high-quality 10W-40 oil that meets or exceeds the JASO MA standard. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Verify the battery is charged. Inspect the starter motor and relay, and check the ignition switch. If the issue persists, consult a professional technician.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 36 psi for the front tire and 41 psi for the rear tire. Always check the owner’s manual or the tire placard on the motorcycle for specific details.
Regularly inspect the drive belt for signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Ensure the belt tension is within specifications as outlined in the service manual. Adjust the tension if necessary and replace the belt if any damage is found.
Check the brake fluid level every 4,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. Use DOT 4 brake fluid and ensure the level is between the minimum and maximum marks.
Overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, or a clogged radiator. Ensure the cooling system is filled and free of leaks, and check that the radiator fan operates correctly.
Locate the clutch lever adjuster near the lever base. Turn the adjuster until you achieve the desired free play, usually around 10-15mm. Ensure the clutch is fully disengaged when the lever is pulled.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, change the oil, and fill the tank with fresh fuel and stabilizer. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the motorcycle with a breathable cover and store it in a dry area.
Remove the seat and side panels to access the air filter box. Open the box, remove the old air filter, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated correctly and reassemble the components.
