Yamaha XTZ12D C Super Tenere 2013 Owner's Manual

To perform an oil change, first warm up the engine and then turn it off. Place the bike on its center stand. Remove the oil filler cap and drain bolt to let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter, reinstall the drain bolt, and fill with the recommended oil type and quantity. Check for leaks and ensure the oil level is correct.
The recommended tire pressure for the Super Tenere 2013 is 33 psi for the front tire and 36 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
If your bike is having starting issues, first check the battery voltage and connections. Ensure the kill switch is set to the 'Run' position and the fuel valve is open. Verify the condition of the spark plugs and inspect the fuel pump and starter motor for any defects.
At 10,000 miles, perform an oil and filter change, inspect the air filter, check brake pads and fluid levels, inspect the drive shaft and suspension, and check all lights and electrical components. Tighten any loose bolts and lubricate the necessary parts.
To adjust the suspension, locate the front fork adjusters for preload and damping. For the rear shock, adjust the preload using the adjustment knob and set the rebound damping as needed. Always adjust while the bike is on a stable surface and refer to the owner’s manual for specific settings.
If the engine overheats, stop the bike in a safe area and turn off the engine. Allow it to cool before checking the coolant level and radiator for any blockages. Inspect the cooling fan operation and ensure there are no coolant leaks. Refill coolant if necessary.
Brake fluid should be replaced every two years, or more frequently if you notice a decrease in braking performance. Use the recommended brake fluid type and ensure there are no air bubbles in the brake lines during replacement.
To clean the chain, use a suitable chain cleaner and a brush. After cleaning, wipe it dry and apply a quality chain lubricant. Check the chain tension and adjust if necessary, ensuring it is neither too tight nor too loose.
Yamaha recommends using a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze coolant with corrosion inhibitors for aluminum engines. Ensure the coolant is mixed with distilled water in a 1:1 ratio unless using a pre-mixed coolant.
Poor fuel economy can be due to under-inflated tires, a dirty air filter, or incorrect riding habits. Ensure regular maintenance, such as oil changes and spark plug replacements, and check the fuel injection system for any issues.
