The recommended engine oil for the Yamaha VK10D 2013 RS Viking is 4-stroke, SAE 0W-40, API service grade SG or higher.
It is recommended to change the engine oil every 1,000 km (600 miles) or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure for the Yamaha VK10D 2013 RS Viking is 0.35 MPa (3.5 kgf/cm², 50 psi) for both front and rear tires.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel is fresh, inspect the spark plugs, and verify that the kill switch is in the correct position.
Clean the snowmobile thoroughly, add fuel stabilizer, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the vehicle to protect it from dust and moisture.
To adjust the track tension, lift the rear of the snowmobile, loosen the locknuts on the track adjusters, and turn the adjuster bolts to achieve the recommended slack of 20-30 mm (0.8-1.2 inches) when measuring between the track and the slider.
Check for any loose components, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and examine the suspension components for any signs of wear or misalignment.
First, locate the spark plug caps and remove them. Use a spark plug socket to unscrew and remove the old spark plugs. Install the new spark plugs and tighten them to the specified torque before reattaching the spark plug caps.
After riding in deep snow or wet conditions, inspect the undercarriage for ice buildup, check the intake and exhaust for blockages, and ensure that the brakes are dry and functioning properly.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain a steady speed, avoid aggressive acceleration and braking, ensure the track is properly aligned and tensioned, and keep the engine well-maintained with regular oil changes and air filter inspections.
