Yamaha RX-385 RDS Owner's Manual

To connect external speakers to the Yamaha RX-385 RDS, ensure the receiver is turned off. Connect the speaker wires to the corresponding terminals on the back of the receiver, ensuring the positive and negative terminals match the speaker’s wiring.
First, check that all connections are secure and that the volume is turned up. Ensure the correct input source is selected. If there is still no sound, try resetting the receiver to factory settings by turning it off and unplugging it for a few minutes.
To program radio stations, use the Tuning buttons to find the desired station. Press the Memory button, then select a preset number using the Preset buttons. Press Memory again to save the station to that preset.
To clean the receiver, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using any liquid cleaners or solvents. For stubborn stains, slightly dampen the cloth with water and dry immediately.
First, replace the batteries in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the receiver. If problems persist, try resetting the remote by removing the batteries and pressing each button once. Then reinsert the batteries.
The Yamaha RX-385 RDS does not have a dedicated subwoofer output. You can connect a powered subwoofer using speaker-level inputs, or use a line-level converter if necessary.
Ensure the receiver is placed in a well-ventilated area and not enclosed in a cabinet. Check that the ventilation openings are not blocked. Reduce the volume and avoid high power output for prolonged periods.
To improve radio reception, adjust the position of the FM and AM antennas. Ensure they are fully extended and positioned away from electronic devices. Consider using an external antenna for better reception.
To reset the receiver to factory settings, turn it off and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This will reset the receiver's settings.
Connect the turntable's audio cables to the Phono input on the back of the receiver. If the turntable does not have a built-in preamp, you may need to connect it through an external phono preamp.
