To power on the Yamaha PSS-14, insert six AA batteries into the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard and press the power button located on the control panel.
First, check if the volume is turned up. Ensure the headphones are not plugged in, as this mutes the speakers. Also, verify that the batteries are properly installed and have sufficient charge.
To reset the Yamaha PSS-14 to default settings, turn off the keyboard, then press and hold the highest white key while turning it back on. This will reset any custom settings.
To select a voice, use the "Voice" button to enter voice selection mode, then input the desired voice number using the keypad.
The Yamaha PSS-14 does not have dedicated output jacks for external speakers. However, you can use the headphone jack with an appropriate adapter to connect to an external audio system.
To clean the keyboard, use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Avoid using cleaning fluids or sprays directly on the keyboard to prevent damage.
Press the "Tempo" button, then use the "+" or "-" buttons to adjust the tempo to the desired speed.
The Yamaha PSS-14 has an auto power-off feature to save battery life. It automatically turns off after a period of inactivity. To disable this feature, consult the user manual for detailed instructions.
If a key is stuck, gently clean around it to remove any debris. If the issue persists, contact an authorized service center for repair.
The Yamaha PSS-14 comes with built-in demo songs and a songbook. Use the "Song" button to select a song, and follow along with the songbook or built-in display prompts to learn the song.
