Ensure that the amplifier is turned off. Connect the speaker wires to the terminals on the rear of the speakers, matching the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals. Then, connect the other ends of the wires to the corresponding terminals on your amplifier.
For the best sound quality, place the speakers at ear level and equidistant from the primary listening position. Ensure they're at least a foot away from walls to reduce bass distortion.
Check all connections to ensure they're secure. Verify that the amplifier is powered on and set to the correct input source. Test the speakers with another audio device to confirm they're functioning.
Dust the speakers regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or abrasive materials. Inspect the speaker wires and connections periodically for wear or corrosion.
The Yamaha NS-B160 speakers are designed for indoor use. Exposure to outdoor elements like moisture and extreme temperatures can damage the speakers.
First, reduce the volume to see if the distortion persists. Check the speaker connections and ensure that the amplifier is not overloading the speakers. If distortion continues, try using a different audio source.
Gently remove the grill and use a vacuum with a brush attachment to remove dust. For stains, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry completely before reattaching.
Ensure that your amplifier can deliver an output power within the speaker's recommended power range, typically between 10 to 50 watts per channel, to avoid damage.
Use the original packaging if available. Otherwise, wrap the speakers in bubble wrap and place them in a sturdy box with sufficient padding to prevent movement during transport.
Remove the metal links between the speaker terminals. Connect separate speaker wires from the amplifier to the high-frequency and low-frequency terminals on each speaker. Ensure the amplifier supports bi-wiring.
