To reset the Yamaha HTR-5790 to factory settings, turn off the receiver. Then press and hold the "STRAIGHT" button while turning the power back on. Continue holding the button until "Advanced Setup" appears on the display. Select "INIT" and confirm the reset.
Check if the receiver is set to the correct input. Ensure that the speaker cables are properly connected to both the receiver and the speakers. Also, verify that the mute function is not activated and the volume is turned up.
The Yamaha HTR-5790 does not support firmware updates as it is an older model. Ensure that all settings are correctly configured and check the Yamaha website for any support documents or tools that might assist with your specific issue.
Connect the speaker wires to the corresponding speaker terminals on the receiver. Ensure the positive (+) and negative (-) wires are connected to the matching terminals on both the receiver and the speakers. Refer to the manual for the correct impedance settings.
To enhance bass output, access the receiver's menu and adjust the bass settings in the tone control options. You can also ensure proper placement of the subwoofer and experiment with the crossover settings to achieve the desired bass response.
Use the built-in YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Optimizer) feature for calibration. Connect the YPAO microphone to the receiver's front panel, follow the on-screen instructions, and place the microphone at your listening position for automatic calibration.
Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected. Try using a different HDMI cable or port to see if the issue persists. Confirm that the HDMI input settings on the receiver match the source device and check for compatibility issues with connected devices.
The Yamaha HTR-5790 does not support control through a mobile app as it lacks network connectivity. Use the physical remote control or front panel buttons for operations.
To set up bi-amping, connect the front speaker outputs to the low-frequency and high-frequency inputs on the speakers. Access the receiver's menu and enable the bi-amp setting. Refer to the speaker manual for specific wiring instructions.
Regular maintenance includes dusting the exterior, ensuring proper ventilation, and checking cable connections. Occasionally, perform a test of all functions to ensure the receiver operates correctly. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents on the surface.
