To connect your Yamaha HTR-5740 to a TV, use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI OUT port on the receiver to the HDMI IN port on your TV. If your TV does not have an HDMI port, use component or composite cables for video, and connect the audio using an optical or coaxial cable.
First, check that all cables are securely connected and that the correct input source is selected. Ensure the receiver is not on mute and the volume is turned up.
