To perform an oil change, first warm up the engine, then turn it off. Place an oil pan under the engine, remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the oil filter, reinstall the drain plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire. Always check the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Check the battery for charge and connections, ensure the kill switch is in the correct position, and verify that there is fuel in the tank. If the issue persists, inspect the starter motor and spark plugs.
Brake pads should be replaced when the pad thickness is less than 1.5 mm or if you hear a squealing noise during braking. Regularly inspect your brake pads as part of routine maintenance.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors suitable for aluminum engines. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific recommendations.
Loosen the rear axle nut and adjust the chain tension using the adjuster bolts on either side of the swingarm. Ensure the chain has about 20-30 mm of slack and retighten the axle nut securely.
The air filter should be checked every 6,000 miles and replaced if necessary. Riding in dusty conditions may require more frequent checks and replacements.
If the engine overheats, stop riding and allow the engine to cool. Check the coolant level and ensure the radiator is not obstructed. If the problem persists, seek professional inspection.
To check the battery condition, use a multimeter to measure the voltage. A fully charged battery should read around 12.6 volts or higher. Check for any signs of corrosion or damage as well.
Regular maintenance includes oil and filter changes every 3,000-4,000 miles, chain lubrication every 500 miles, brake inspection every 6,000 miles, and coolant replacement every 24,000 miles. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
