The recommended maintenance schedule includes: checking and replacing spark plugs every 50 hours or annually, changing engine oil and filter every 50 hours or annually, inspecting the jet pump and impeller every 50 hours, and checking the cooling system and flushing it after each use.
To winterize, clean the exterior, flush the cooling system with fresh water, add fuel stabilizer to the tank, change the engine oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the Waverunner to protect it from the elements.
Use Yamalube 4W 10W-40 for the Yamaha FZS Waverunner 2010, as it is specifically formulated for Yamaha watercraft engines.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage, and check the starter relay and fuses for any issues.
Attach a garden hose to the flushing port, start the engine, and then turn on the water flow. Let the engine run for about 5 minutes while flushing, turn off the water before stopping the engine to avoid water backflow.
Ensure the hull is clean and free from marine growth, keep the engine well-maintained, avoid carrying unnecessary weight, and operate at a consistent, moderate speed.
Stop the engine immediately, check for blockages in the cooling system intake, ensure the cooling system is flushed regularly, and inspect the impeller for damage.
Remove the engine cover, disconnect the spark plug wires, use a spark plug socket to remove the old plugs, check and set the gap on the new plugs, and install them before reconnecting the wires.
Inspect the impeller and jet pump for debris or damage, check the engine mounts for wear, and ensure the hull is not damaged or distorted.
Rinse the Waverunner with fresh water after each use, apply a corrosion inhibitor spray to metal parts, and store it in a dry place when not in use.
