To check the engine oil level, ensure the motorcycle is on a level surface and the engine is warm. Turn off the engine, wait for a few minutes, and use the dipstick to check the oil level. The level should be between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick.
The recommended tire pressure for the Yamaha FZ10 2017 is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
It is recommended to inspect the air filter every 6,000 miles (10,000 km) and replace it if necessary. Replace the air filter every 12,000 miles (20,000 km) or more frequently if you ride in dusty conditions.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol antifreeze containing corrosion inhibitors suitable for aluminum engines. Ensure the mixture is 50% distilled water and 50% antifreeze.
First, check the battery connections and charge level. Ensure the kill switch is in the 'Run' position. Inspect the fuel level and the fuel cutoff valve. If the issue persists, check the spark plugs and fuses.
The break-in period is the first 600 miles (1,000 km). During this time, avoid prolonged operation above 7,000 rpm, vary the engine speed, and avoid full-throttle starts and rapid acceleration.
To adjust the chain tension, place the motorcycle on a stand. Loosen the rear axle nut, adjust the tensioner bolts evenly on both sides, and ensure the chain has 1.2-1.6 inches (30-40 mm) of slack. Tighten the axle nut after adjustment.
If the engine overheats, stop the motorcycle in a safe place and turn off the engine. Check the coolant level and for any leaks. Allow the engine to cool before checking further. Ensure the radiator is not obstructed.
Regularly check the brake fluid level and top it up with DOT 4 brake fluid as needed. Inspect brake pads for wear and replace them if the thickness is less than 1 mm. Check brake hoses for cracks or leaks.
The recommended spark plug for the Yamaha FZ10 2017 is NGK CR9E. Always ensure the spark plug gap is set correctly according to the specifications in the owner’s manual.
