The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking and replacing the engine oil every 50 hours or annually, inspecting the spark plugs every 100 hours, and performing a general inspection of the hull, electrical, and fuel systems every 25 hours.
If the Waverunner fails to start, check the battery charge and connections, inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage, and ensure the fuel system is delivering fuel properly.
Use Yamalube 4W 10W-40 oil or an equivalent 4-stroke marine oil to ensure optimal performance and engine protection.
Rinse the Waverunner with fresh water after each use in saltwater, apply a corrosion protection spray on metal components, and store the watercraft in a dry, covered area.
To winterize, drain any water from the engine, add fuel stabilizer to the tank, remove and store the battery in a cool, dry place, and cover the Waverunner securely.
Attach a garden hose to the flush port, start the engine, then turn on the water. Allow the engine to run for a few minutes, then turn off the water before shutting down the engine.
Check for blockages in the cooling water intake, ensure the cooling system is working properly, and verify the engine oil level is correct.
Maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance, use the recommended oil, and avoid carrying unnecessary weight on the Waverunner.
Check the fuel level, inspect the throttle and steering for smooth operation, ensure the hull is free of damage, and verify the safety lanyard is functioning.
Inspect the hull for visible cracks or damage, perform a water test by checking for water accumulation in the bilge after riding, and ensure all seals and gaskets are intact.
