The Yamaha FX SHO and FX Cruiser SHO Waverunner 2013 require regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 86.
It's recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
After operating in saltwater, flush the engine with fresh water by connecting a hose to the flushing port, running the engine at idle, and allowing the water to circulate for about 10 minutes.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the battery is fully charged, verify that the fuel tank is not empty, and inspect the spark plugs.
End-of-season maintenance should include an oil change, fuel stabilizer addition, engine flushing, battery removal and storage, and a thorough cleaning and inspection.
Avoid rapid acceleration, maintain a steady speed, ensure the hull is clean, and regularly check and replace the air filter as needed.
Stop the engine immediately, let it cool down, check for blockages in the cooling intake, and inspect the impeller for debris. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
Regularly inspect the jet pump for debris and damage, lubricate the bearings as needed, and replace the wear ring if excessive wear is noticed.
Clean the Waverunner thoroughly, add a fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the Waverunner with a breathable cover.
Common causes include debris in the jet pump, damaged impeller blades, or a misaligned drive shaft. Inspect these components and clean or replace as necessary.
