Yamaha FX HO, FX Cruiser HO Waverunner 2013 Owner's Manual

Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the spark plugs, checking the jet pump for debris, and ensuring the battery is charged. It's important to follow the maintenance schedule outlined in the owner's manual.
First, check the battery connections and charge the battery if necessary. Ensure the safety lanyard is properly attached and the fuel tank is not empty. If the problem persists, consult a professional technician.
Check for blockages in the cooling system, such as debris in the intake grate or a clogged cooling water intake. Inspect the cooling hoses for damage or leaks. Ensure the engine is not running too lean.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid ethanol-blended fuels higher than 10% as they can cause damage to the engine.
Clean the craft thoroughly, drain any remaining water, stabilize the fuel, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the Waverunner to protect it from dust and moisture.
Attach a garden hose to the flush port, start the engine, and turn on the water. Run the engine for a few minutes to flush out salt and debris. Turn off the water before stopping the engine.
It's recommended to replace the spark plugs every 100 hours of operation or at the start of each season to ensure optimal performance.
Check for debris in the jet pump, inspect the wear ring for damage, and ensure the throttle cable is properly adjusted. Also, verify that the engine is running smoothly without any unusual noises.
Rinse the Waverunner with fresh water after each use, especially after riding in saltwater. Apply a corrosion inhibitor spray to metal parts and store the craft in a dry, covered area.
Use Yamalube 4W 10W-40 or an equivalent high-quality marine-grade oil. Regular oil changes will help maintain engine performance and longevity.
