The recommended engine oil for these models is Yamalube 10W-40 or any high-quality, mineral-based or synthetic engine oil with a viscosity grade of 10W-40 or 10W-50.
It is advised to change the engine oil every 4,000 miles (6,400 km) or 6 months, whichever comes first, to ensure optimal engine performance and longevity.
If the ABS warning light remains illuminated, it indicates a potential issue with the ABS system. It is recommended to have the system checked by an authorized Yamaha dealer to diagnose and fix the issue.
To adjust the suspension, refer to the owner's manual which provides guidance on adjusting the preload, rebound, and compression settings based on your weight, riding style, and conditions.
The recommended tire pressure for the FJR13ESNC is 42 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold for accurate measurements.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance, use the recommended grade of fuel, and avoid aggressive acceleration and braking.
If the FJR1300 won't start, check the battery for charge, ensure the kill switch is in the 'Run' position, verify the fuel level, and inspect the fuses. If the problem persists, consult a Yamaha service professional.
To reset the trip meter, press and hold the "Trip" button on the dashboard until the display resets to zero. This can be done while the motorcycle is stationary.
Regular maintenance includes oil and filter changes, checking and adjusting the drive chain, inspecting brake pads and discs, checking tire pressure and tread, and ensuring all lights and signals are functioning.
To adjust the headlight beam, locate the adjustment screws near the headlight assembly. Use a screwdriver to adjust the vertical and horizontal alignment to suit your preference and ensure proper road illumination.
