The recommended oil type for the Yamaha F75TLRD is Yamalube 4M 10W-30 or 20W-40 for optimal performance and engine protection.
Regular maintenance should be performed every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first, to ensure the engine runs efficiently.
First, check the fuel level and the battery connection. Ensure the kill switch is in the correct position, and inspect the spark plugs for wear or fouling.
To winterize, flush the engine with fresh water, change the oil and oil filter, stabilize the fuel, and apply fogging oil to protect the internal components.
Connect a freshwater hose to the flushing port, start the engine, and let it run at idle for 10-15 minutes to flush out salt and debris.
Overheating could be caused by a blocked water intake, malfunctioning thermostat, or a damaged impeller. Inspect and clean these components regularly.
To change the spark plugs, remove the engine cover, disconnect the spark plug wires, unscrew the old plugs, and install new ones with the correct gap settings.
Check the fuel system for clogs, inspect the propeller for damage, and ensure that the throttle linkage is properly adjusted.
Remove all spark plugs, connect a compression gauge to each cylinder, turn the engine over with the starter, and record the pressure readings for each cylinder.
Rinse the engine with fresh water, use a mild soap and a soft brush to remove dirt and grime, and dry with a clean cloth to prevent corrosion.
