The recommended oil type for the Yamaha F15CMHL is Yamalube 4M FC-W 10W-30 or 20W-40.
Check the fuel level, ensure the fuel line is connected, inspect the spark plug for wear, and verify the battery is charged.
Attach a hose to the flushing port and run fresh water through the system for about 10 minutes with the engine off.
Change the oil every 100 hours of operation or at least once per boating season.
Stop the engine immediately, check for obstructions in the cooling water intake, and ensure the water pump is functioning properly.
Drain and replace the engine oil, stabilize the fuel, and flush the cooling system with antifreeze. Store in a dry place.
The spark plug gap should be set to 0.8-0.9 mm (0.031-0.035 inches).
Locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor and turn it slowly to achieve the desired RPM when the engine is warm.
Turn off the engine, relieve fuel system pressure, remove the old filter, and install a new one. Ensure there are no leaks.
Regular maintenance, proper propeller selection, and avoiding excessive idling can help improve fuel efficiency.
