The Yamaha EXR Waverunner 2020 should have its oil and filter changed every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Additionally, inspect the spark plugs, hull, and impeller regularly for wear and damage.
To winterize your Yamaha EXR, clean the exterior, drain all water from the engine, stabilize the fuel, and remove the battery for storage. Consider using a Yamaha-approved fogging oil to protect the engine internals.
Use Yamalube 4W 10W-40 oil, which is specifically designed for Yamaha watercraft. It provides optimal lubrication and performance for the engine.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure the hull is clean, avoid excessive idling, maintain a steady throttle, and ensure the engine is well-maintained with regular service intervals.
Check the battery connections, ensure the kill switch is attached, verify there is fuel in the tank, and inspect the spark plugs for fouling or damage.
Check the cooling water intake for blockages, ensure the water pump is functioning correctly, and inspect the thermostat. Flush the system with fresh water to clear any debris.
During the first 10 hours, avoid full throttle, vary the engine speed, and avoid prolonged idling. After 10 hours, change the oil and check the condition of the spark plugs.
Rinse the hull with fresh water after each use, especially after using in saltwater. Use a mild detergent and soft brush for cleaning, and apply a protective wax to maintain the finish.
Store your Yamaha EXR in a cool, dry place, preferably on a trailer or lift. Use a cover to protect it from dust and UV exposure. Ensure the fuel system is stabilized and the battery is disconnected.
Signs of impeller wear include reduced acceleration, unusual vibrations, or a decrease in top speed. Inspect the impeller for nicks or bends and replace if damaged.
