To reset the Westinghouse WSF6608KXA dishwasher, press and hold the start button for 3 seconds until the display shows "--", indicating the reset process has begun. Release the button and wait for the dishwasher to reset.
Ensure that the spray arms are not clogged or blocked, and clean them if necessary. Check that the dishwasher is loaded correctly and that the detergent dispenser is functioning properly. Also, verify that the water temperature is set to at least 120°F (49°C).
Check for any blockages in the drain hose or filter. Ensure that the drain hose is not kinked. Clean the filter and remove any debris that might be obstructing the drain path. If the issue persists, inspect the pump for any faults.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the filter and spray arms monthly, checking and cleaning the door gasket, and running an empty cycle with vinegar to remove any build-up. Also, inspect hoses for leaks and ensure they are properly secured.
Place larger items like pots and pans around the edges and smaller items like cups and bowls on the top rack. Ensure that dishes do not block the spray arms and that all items are angled downwards for efficient water flow.
The white residue is often due to hard water. Use a rinse aid to help combat mineral deposits. Ensure that the detergent is being dispensed correctly and consider installing a water softener if hard water is a persistent issue.
Unusual noises can be caused by items loose in the dishwasher, such as utensils falling into the bottom. Ensure that the dishwasher is properly loaded and that no items are obstructing the spray arms. Check the pump and motor for any faults if noises persist.
Remove the bottom rack to access the filter. Twist the filter counterclockwise and lift it out. Rinse the filter under running water and use a soft brush to remove any debris. Reinstall the filter by placing it back in position and twisting it clockwise until it locks.
For heavily soiled pots and pans, use the Intensive cycle, which operates at higher temperatures and longer durations to ensure thorough cleaning. Load items carefully to maximize exposure to the spray arms.
Ensure that the door gasket is clean and free of debris. Inspect the gasket for any signs of wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Do not overload the dishwasher, as this can prevent the door from sealing properly.
