To perform regular maintenance, check the engine oil levels and air filters weekly, clean the mower deck after each use, and sharpen the blades every 20-25 hours of operation. Refer to the user manual for detailed maintenance schedules.
If the mower won't start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel tank is not empty, and inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage. Also, make sure that all safety switches and levers are in their correct positions.
For uneven cutting, check if the blades are sharp and properly installed. Ensure the deck is level and adjust tire pressure as needed to maintain even ground contact.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol as it can damage engine components.
To clean the mower deck, use a garden hose to remove grass clippings and debris. For stubborn buildup, use a plastic scraper. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
If the blades are not engaging, inspect the PTO (Power Take-Off) switch, check the drive belt for wear, and ensure the safety interlocks are functioning correctly.
Replace the air filter every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Check it more frequently if you operate the mower in dusty conditions.
To improve fuel efficiency, regularly maintain the engine, keep the blades sharp, and avoid mowing wet grass. Properly inflate tires and reduce idling time to save fuel.
For winter storage, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry place. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry location.
Adjust the cutting height by using the deck lift lever, which allows you to set the deck to the desired position. Refer to the user manual for specific height settings and recommendations.
