Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is in the "OFF" position, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Then, turn the ignition key to the "START" position and release it once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections and charge if necessary. Ensure the fuel tank is not empty, the spark plug is functional, and there is no obstruction in the fuel line.
Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first, for optimal performance.
Use SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 oil for best results, ensuring the oil meets API service classification SJ or higher.
Regularly sharpen the mower blades, maintain correct tire pressure, and mow with the engine at full throttle to ensure an even cut.
Inspect the blades for damage, check for loose bolts and nuts, and ensure the deck is not clogged with debris. Balance the blades if necessary.
Use a garden hose to remove grass clippings and debris from the deck after each use. For thorough cleaning, use a scraper or putty knife to remove hardened debris.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation. Replace it annually or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions.
To adjust the cutting height, use the deck lift lever located on the mower's right side. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 inches.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, inspect and replace the air filter if needed, add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry, covered location.
