To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral lock position. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position. Release the key once the engine starts.
Check the battery connections for corrosion, ensure the fuel tank has fresh gasoline, and verify that the spark plugs are in good condition. Also, make sure the safety interlock system is functioning properly.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Use the oil type recommended in the operator's manual.
Inspect the mower blades for sharpness and damage before each use. Sharpen or replace blades as necessary. Always disconnect the spark plug before performing any maintenance on the blades.
Ensure that the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Adjust the deck level and pitch according to the operator's manual. Mow at the correct speed and avoid cutting wet grass.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil and filter, add fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, and charge the battery. Store the mower in a dry, covered area.
Check that the blades are sharp and balanced, ensure the mower deck is level, and verify that the tire pressure on all wheels is equal. Adjust as necessary.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 13 psi for the rear tires and 15 psi for the front tires. Check the operator's manual for confirmation.
Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris from the deck. For thorough cleaning, safely lift the mower and scrape off any hardened grass with a plastic scraper. Disconnect the spark plug before cleaning.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, debris stuck in the deck, or damaged pulleys. Check these components and perform necessary maintenance to resolve the issue.
