To change the oil, first run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Place an oil pan under the drain plug, remove the plug, and let the old oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, fill with new oil up to the recommended level, and reconnect the spark plug.
The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking the oil level before each use, changing the oil every 100 hours, sharpening blades every 25 hours, and checking tire pressure monthly. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule.
If your mower won't start, check if the fuel tank is filled, ensure the battery is charged, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and ensure the air filter is clean. If it still won't start, consult a professional technician.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content. Ensure fuel is fresh and clean to prevent engine issues.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
If the blades are not engaging, check the PTO switch for damage, inspect the drive belt for wear or breakage, and ensure the battery is fully charged. If these do not resolve the issue, consult a technician.
To maintain the battery, keep it clean and dry, check the terminals for corrosion, and charge it regularly during the off-season. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Signs that the blades need sharpening include uneven cutting, torn grass tips, and increased engine strain. Check blades regularly and sharpen as needed for optimal performance.
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover, take out the filter, and gently tap it on a flat surface to remove debris. If it's excessively dirty, replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is dry before reinstalling.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose parts, or damaged components. Inspect the mower for any loose bolts, check the blade balance, and tighten or replace parts as necessary.
