To start the Toro Z Master Z252L, ensure the brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to the mid or fast position. Turn the ignition key to the start position and release once the engine starts.
If the mower does not start, check the battery connections, ensure the brake is engaged, and the PTO is off. Verify that there is fuel in the tank and inspect for any blown fuses.
Change the oil every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Use the recommended oil type as specified in the owner's manual.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height-of-cut lever located on the control panel. Move the lever to the desired position, which ranges from 1.5 to 4.5 inches.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged, and ensure they are properly balanced. Verify the tire pressure and adjust the deck level if needed.
Before storing for winter, clean the mower, change the oil, add fuel stabilizer, charge the battery, and check the tire pressure. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
To change the blades, disconnect the spark plug, lift the mower using a jack, and use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades and tighten securely.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or debris lodged in the deck. Inspect the blades for damage and clear any debris from the mower deck.
After use, allow the mower to cool and use a garden hose to wash the deck. Avoid using high pressure to prevent damage. Dry the mower to prevent rust.
Ensure the fuel tank has enough fuel, check the air filter for clogs, and inspect the spark plug condition. Also, verify that the fuel valve is open.
