Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Turn the ignition key to the 'Start' position and release it once the engine starts.
Check the fuel level, ensure the battery is charged, and verify that the spark plug is in good condition. Also, make sure the safety interlock switches are functioning correctly.
Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Use the recommended oil type specified in the manual.
The front tires should be inflated to 13 psi and the rear tires to 10 psi. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Use the height-of-cut lever located on the right side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired height setting, ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 inches.
Check if the mower deck is level and adjust as necessary. Also, inspect the blades for wear or damage and ensure they are sharp and properly installed.
Keep the battery terminals clean and tight. Charge the battery periodically, especially during the off-season, to maintain its health.
After each use, remove grass clippings and debris from the mower deck using a garden hose. Ensure the mower is off and cool before cleaning.
Check for loose parts or debris caught in the deck. Inspect the blades for balance and damage, and ensure all mounting bolts are secure.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours and replace it if it is dirty or damaged. Regular replacement ensures optimal engine performance.
