To perform routine maintenance, check and replace the engine oil, inspect the air filter, and sharpen the blades regularly. Also, ensure the tires are inflated properly and clean the mower deck to prevent grass buildup.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for the Z Master Z150 in temperatures above 32°F. For temperatures below 32°F, use 5W-30 oil to ensure optimal engine performance.
If the mower won't start, check the battery connections, fuel level, and spark plug. Ensure the parking brake is engaged and the PTO switch is off. If issues persist, consider checking the safety switches and fuel filter.
To adjust the cutting height, use the lever located on the side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired position corresponding to the cutting height you prefer. Ensure the mower is on a flat surface when making adjustments.
If the blades are not cutting properly, check if they need sharpening or replacement. Inspect for any damage such as bends or nicks. Ensure the blades are properly aligned and securely fastened.
To clean the mower deck, safely elevate the mower and use a hose to rinse off grass clippings. For stubborn debris, use a scraper or putty knife. Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected before cleaning.
Toro recommends maintaining the front tires at 13 psi and the rear tires at 10 psi for optimal performance and stability. Regularly check the tire pressure to ensure proper maintenance.
To change the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug socket to remove the old plug. Install a new plug, ensuring it is properly gapped, and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, debris on the mower deck, or loose hardware. Check the blades for damage and balance, clean the deck, and tighten any loose bolts.
To winterize the mower, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower deck, and store the mower in a dry place. Disconnect the battery and store it separately if possible.
