Toro Z Master Z147 74270 Operator's Manual

To start the mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle is set to 'choke' if the engine is cold. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the belts for wear, sharpening the blades, and checking tire pressure.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours thereafter.
Check that the PTO switch is in the 'on' position. Inspect the belts and pulleys for damage or disconnection, and ensure the safety interlocks are functioning properly.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height-of-cut lever located near the operator's seat. Move the lever to the desired position corresponding to the cutting height.
After mowing, remove any grass clippings and debris from the deck using a brush or air blower. For thorough cleaning, use a hose with a moderate water stream.
Stalling could be due to dirty air filters, clogged fuel filters, or old fuel. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the filters are clean and in good condition.
Maintain sharp blades, ensure proper tire pressure, and perform regular maintenance. Avoid cutting wet grass and reduce engine idle time.
Check the blade sharpness and balance, ensure the tire pressure is even, and inspect the deck for levelness. Adjust as needed to ensure an even cut.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and add fuel stabilizer to the tank. Store in a dry, cool place, and disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
