Regular maintenance should be conducted every 25 hours of operation or as outlined in the operator's manual. This includes checking the oil, air filter, and blades.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil for general conditions. Refer to the operator's manual for specific recommendations based on your operating environment.
Use the height-of-cut lever to select the desired cutting height. Ensure the mower deck is level for an even cut.
Check the PTO switch, belt tension, and ensure there are no obstructions in the blade area. Also, inspect the electrical connections to the PTO clutch.
Use a low-pressure water hose to clean the mower deck and underside. Avoid using high pressure to prevent damage. Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
Check for debris lodged in the mower deck, inspect the blades for damage or imbalance, and ensure all mounting hardware is secure.
Ensure the mower deck is level, blades are sharp, and tire pressures are equal. Adjust the deck as necessary and replace or sharpen dull blades.
Clean the mower thoroughly, check and change fluids as needed, and store in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the battery and cover the machine to protect it from dust.
