Ensure that the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the motion control levers are in the neutral position. Turn the key to the 'Start' position and release it once the engine starts.
Regularly check and change the oil every 100 hours, clean the air filter every 25 hours, and sharpen the blades as needed. Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel level is adequate, and verify that the safety switches are functioning properly. Additionally, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
Use the height-of-cut lever located near the operator's seat. Move the lever to select the desired cutting height, which ranges from 1.5 to 5 inches.
Check if the blades are sharp and balanced. Ensure the deck is level by adjusting the deck hanger links and inspect for any debris buildup under the deck.
Park the mower on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the engine. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, replace the blades, and secure them with the bolts.
Use SAE 10W-30 or SAE 30 oil that meets the API service classification SJ or higher. Refer to the engine manual for specific recommendations based on operating conditions.
Use a low-pressure hose to wash the mower, avoiding direct spraying on electrical components. Clean the deck with a scraper or hose to remove grass clippings and debris.
Use a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure of each tire. Inflate to the recommended pressure, typically found on the tire sidewall or in the operator's manual.
Check for loose or damaged blades, unbalanced tires, or loose bolts on the mower deck. Tighten any loose components and replace damaged parts as necessary.
