Ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, throttle is set to "midway", and then turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, verify the spark plugs are in good condition, and check for any blown fuses.
Change the engine oil every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10.
Use the height-of-cut lever located on the mower deck to set the desired height, ranging from 1.5 to 5 inches.
Use a garden hose to rinse the underside of the deck after each use to prevent grass buildup. Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected for safety.
Check if the blades are sharp and balanced, ensure the tire pressure is even, and verify the deck is level.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of operation and clean or replace it as needed to ensure optimal engine performance.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove the battery, and store it in a dry, protected area. Consider using a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel system issues.
Check for damaged or unbalanced blades, inspect the engine mounts, and ensure all bolts and fasteners are tightened.
